Papers and Exhibits Invited
2007 IBMBS Conference

You are cordially invited to submit proposed papers and exhibits for presentation at the Third conference of the International Behavioral & Medical Biometrics Society (IBMBS), August 19, 20 and 21st, 2007, in Budapest, Hungary.

This year’s theme will be “Identifying, Collecting, and Interpreting the Behavioral and Medical Biometric Markers.” We have requested in earlier notices, that those making their first exhibit or presentation provide their proposals by December 31st. If there are extenuating circumstances, we may grant further time on individual basis or for special merit. But we encourage early submissions by all to be assured of consideration for conference presentations or exhibits. Further information on presentations may be found at Exhibitors should review , and first contact us directly on space requirements.

This will be the Third International IBMBS conference. The first two were held in Las Vegas (2004) and Shanghai (2006). It will also be the sixth conference since 2004 covering the science of behavioral and medical biometrics. The other three very well attended conferences were held in Asia (Shanghai and Taiwan) and sponsored by the Mind Measurement Education Association (Ms. Mary Lai, Chairperson) and Dr. Wang Chenxia’s Yunnan Chenxia Palm Line Medical Research Institute, in Kunming, Yunnan, China, P.R.. The Chinese have taken a leading roll in the research and development in this science. We expect a considerable contingent from Asia to be on hand to share their findings and possibly their hardware technology. That technology overlaps and compliments the same technologies currently being used in the security industry, but offers a potential that will dwarf that industry.

Our science is gaining broader acceptance. One of our founders, Dr. Arnold Holtzman, Ph.D., was recently invited to give a series of four hour lectures this month to the Israel Association of Psychologists (affiliated with family counseling clinics). Our association’s introductions are making possible the first English translation and publication of the latest work of Professor Zhang Haiguo on Chinese nationality dermatoglyphic research. It is currently being edited for the English version and will be available to all shortly after the first of the year. Any persons interested in publishing intellectual reviews in peer reviewed journals are requested to contact us for advanced copies. Professor Zhang Haiguo teaches and conducts genetic research at the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Medical school. He also teaches a course named Human Dermatoglyphics. More than 650 students have taken part in that course in the last 2 years. His first book in English synthesizers his research in his many travels to Tibet, Xingjiang Uygur, Qinghai and Yunnan through collecting dermatoglyphic prints. More than 60 of his articles and 4 books have been published in Chinese. This book summaries of his theories and will be the basic reference req1uied of any library wishing to provide knowledge of Chinese discoveries in the field. We are hoping Professor Zhang will be able to join us in Budapest, and are expecting Dr. Wang and Mary Lai also to be present.

We expect the proceedings to be published and are currently considering the offer of World Scientific Publishing Co. Pte. Ltd., (Singapore headquarters) Its senior editor advises that we may expect publication within three months of conclusion of the conference.
