In the shadowy world of spy vs. spy, there’s a new player: the average homeowner.The electronic security industry is a huge market, according to SecurityGateway.com, a Web site sponsored by the Security Industry Association
The SIA Web site says about $30 billion is spent annually on systems for access control, closed-circuit television, biometrics (systems that use physiological measurements such as fingerprints or retina patterns to control access), fire detection, intrusion detection and alarms, alarm monitoring and integration of systems, for businesses and homes.
