DOD devotes a Web site to biometricsBy Dawn S. Onley
GCN StaffThe Defense Department’s Biometrics Management Office and Biometrics Fusion Center today unveiled a new Web site for biometrics information.
The site, www.biometrics.dod.mil, offers biometric technology tutorials, test and evaluation updates, policy foundation background, educational program announcements and information on government and industry partnerships, according to a Defense official.
“This comprehensive site offers a broad look into these latest developments, and also provides a sounding board for visitors to share their interests in biometrics so that we may better understand the requirements of our DOD community,” John Woodward, director of the BMO, said in a statement.
The site gives DOD users and vendors information on various BMO and BFC initiatives, including test and evaluation, biometric standard development and the Biometrics/Common Access Card program. Also, Defense users can access a restricted section of the site to get up-to-date information about biometric product assessments.
It's a nice site!
